Apple Sold 600,000 iPhone 4s In One Day (Now That's Crazy)



     Word is that Apple sold 600,000 iPhone 4s in on Tuesday, beating its previous record. Ordering websites crashed in both the UK and the US as the device went on sale. When the iPhone 3GS went on sale last year, one million were sold in its first three days  but it debuted in eight countries, and the iPhone 4 has gone on sale in five.

     In the UK, Apple is offering the phone Sim-free for £499 for the cheapest version through its online store, which crashed as overwhelming demand hit the manufacturer. Apple said it was the largest number of pre-orders it had ever taken in a single day and was ‘far higher than we anticipated’.
